<p>Joe is the Distinguished International Emeritus Professor at the University of Minnesota.  He is a  political geographer and a prominent world federalist scholar.  He has done significant work in seeking solutions to the Kashmir conflict.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The CGS-CA Annual Meeting / Conference will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Manhattan Beach Community Church at 303 South Peck Ave, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. It is on the west side of South Peck Ave. between Artesia Blvd. and 2nd St.  There is a small parking lot at the front of the church.  </p>
<p>The Assembly Hall is behind the large church building. The entrance to the main parking lot is from Rowell Ave. near Curtis Ave.  This entrance may be reached by going north on South Peck Ave, to Second St., going left on Second to Rowell Ave, and going left to the church parking lot entrance, which is on your left at the end of Rowell Ave.</p>

<p align="center"><strong>Report from June ICC Assembly of States Parties, Kampala,  Uganda</strong></p>
<p align="center">At the June 2010 ICC Assembly of States meeting in Kampala, Uganda, 84 nations agreed to put the Hague’s International Criminal Court (ICC) on a seven-year path to become the first permanent court to try individuals for the crime of aggression.  This will add the crime of aggression in the future to the three crimes that the ICC is currently prosecuting:  genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.</p>

<p><strong>Anu Joshi, </strong>CGS Outreach Director, will be leading the Partners National Teleconference in person in Manhattan   Beach.  Both of the morning call-in speakers attended the June ICC Assembly of States meeting in Kampala, Uganda:</p>
<p><strong>Stephen J. Rapp</strong> is the U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues.  Appointed by President Obama, he was confirmed by the Senate, and assumed his duties on September 8, 2009 and led the U.S. delegation to the ICC Assembly of States.</p>
<p><strong>Ariela Blätter</strong> is the CGS Director of Policy and Programs.  Before joining CGS, she was at Amnesty International (AI) for seven years, where she most recently served as Senior Director for International Programs.  She has served as a permanent representative to the UN on the establishment of the International Criminal Court, overseeing a team of NGO lobbyists and policy staff.</p>
<p><strong>William R. Pace</strong>, our afternoon speaker, is the Executive Director of the World Federalist Movement (WFM).  He has served as the Convenor of the <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://www.wfm-igp.org/site/wfm/cicc">Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC)</a></span> since its founding in 1995 and is a co-founder and steering committee member of the International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect (R2P).  <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://www.wfm-igp.org/site/wfm-home">The World Federalist Movement</a></span> (WFM) is an international citizen&#8217;s movement working for justice, peace, and sustainable prosperity through the development of democratic international institutions and the global application of international law.  CICC is a network of over 2,500 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) advocating for a fair, effective and independent International Criminal Court (ICC).  Bill leads the <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://www.wfm-igp.org/site/igp-home">Institute for Global Policy</a></span> (IGP) which is a WFM program founded in 1983 as the research and policy analysis arm of the WFM and is the primary education mechanism of WFM seeking to promote a better understanding of the UN and other international organizations.  He also leads the <a href="http://www.wfm-igp.org/site/wfm/international-secretariat">WFM International Secretariat</a> (IS) which is the administrative and coordinating body of WFM and the global network of 13 Member Organizations (including CGS), and 13 Associated Organizations.  The IS has a world-wide staff of more than 40 persons with headquarters in New York and The   Hague.  Bill also attended the June ICC Assembly of States meeting in Kampala, Uganda.</p>
